Casino Deposit Methods in the UK – 2026 Comparison
Before you can play at any online casino, you need to fund your account. The payment method you choose affects more than convenience. It decides how quickly your money arrives, whether fees apply and how much you can deposit. It can also decide whether you qualify for a welcome offer and how you withdraw later. UK players also face a specific rule: since April 2020, the Gambling Commission has banned gambling with credit cards, including credit cards used through e-wallets.
This section brings together our guides to every deposit method UK players ask about. Some are everyday options found at almost every licensed casino, such as debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and instant bank payments through open banking. Others are more specialised, such as pay by mobile services, prepaid solutions and app-based e-wallets. We also cover methods that have been discontinued or were never designed for the UK market, so you know where you stand before you look for them.
Each guide explains how the method works, what to expect on speed, costs and limits, and whether you can also use it to withdraw. On a small budget, the Minimum Deposit section is the place to start. If payout speed matters most, see the Fast Withdrawal section. For digital currencies and the UK rules that apply to them, see the Crypto Casino section.
Whatever method you use, only deposit at casinos with a valid Gambling Commission licence. Set a deposit limit that suits your budget before you start.

Can I use a credit card at a UK online casino?
No. Since 14 April 2020, casinos licensed by the Gambling Commission cannot accept credit card payments for gambling. The ban also covers credit cards used through e-wallets and other payment services, so a wallet topped up by credit card will be blocked. Debit cards, bank-funded e-wallets and open banking payments remain available.
How quickly are casino deposits credited?
Debit card, e-wallet, mobile wallet and open banking deposits are usually credited almost immediately, so you can start playing within seconds of confirming the payment. Traditional bank transfers can take longer, sometimes one to three working days, depending on the casino’s processing and your bank. Check the cashier for the stated timescale before you pay.
Can I withdraw with the same method I used to deposit?
Often, yes. Many casinos return winnings to the original payment method where possible, partly to meet anti-money laundering rules. Some methods, such as pay by mobile and prepaid vouchers, only support deposits, so you will need a verified bank account, debit card or e-wallet in place before you request your first withdrawal.
More Guides in This Section
Three broader guides sit alongside the method-by-method pages. The first compares the best online casino payment methods in the UK for both deposits and withdrawals. The second explains what “no account” casinos really mean under UK licensing rules, and the third covers online casinos without registration: how bank-verified quick sign-up works and which checks still apply.
How We Evaluate
- Speed: how quickly the deposit is credited to your casino balance.
- Fees: whether the casino, the payment provider or your bank may charge for the transaction.
- Security: encryption, strong customer authentication and how much data you need to share.
- Limits: minimum and maximum deposit amounts, and whether the method supports withdrawals.
- Availability: whether UKGC-licensed casinos offer the method and whether deposits qualify for bonuses.
Are there fees for casino deposits?
Most UK-licensed casinos do not charge for standard deposits. Payment providers can still charge in some cases, for example for currency conversion, for loading an e-wallet or for pay by mobile transactions. Check both the casino cashier and your provider’s terms, because even a small fee takes a noticeable share of a low deposit.
Do all deposit methods qualify for bonuses?
Not always. Some promotions exclude deposits made with certain e-wallets, such as Skrill and Neteller, or with prepaid methods. The qualifying deposit can also be higher than the casino’s general minimum. Always read the bonus terms before choosing how to pay, because switching methods after depositing will not make an excluded deposit eligible.
